The player guide Split screen & local play

Sledding Game Split Screen and Local Co-op

The checked official listings advertise online multiplayer, not a local split-screen mode. Do not buy for two players sharing one game screen on that basis. Controller support is an input feature and does not by itself add a second local player.

Official Steam and Xbox listings checked against the supplied October 12 material, plus the current September update. No local-mode announcement or verified split-screen setup was found.

What the listings support

ModeChecked evidence
Online co-op / multiplayerListed by the official stores.
Local co-op / split screenNo matching capability or setup in the checked listings and update. A May community thread requests the feature rather than demonstrates it.
Single player / solo lobbySteam lists single player; community players describe invite-only hosting. This does not place two players on one screen.

On a small screen, scroll the table sideways to see every column.

Sledding Game animal characters sharing a chairlift in a single gameplay view.
Several characters visible in a scene are not evidence of split-screen play.

Controllers do not establish a local multiplayer mode

Steam lists controller input support and Xbox lists input accessibility features. Those describe how a player controls the game. The checked sources do not provide a local-player join button, supported local account count or second-controller setup.

If split screen is essential to your purchase, wait for an explicit official capability and setup rather than relying on a general “co-op” label. The platform reference distinguishes stores and devices.

Use an online group on separate devices

A same-room group can use the advertised online mode with separate devices and the appropriate game access for each participant. Pick a verified matching storefront group, then follow the private lobby procedure.

The Xbox listing has cross-platform capability labels, while Steam-to-Xbox joining is not established by those labels. Confirm the exact store/device combination before purchasing extra copies.
